Upcoming event: Executive Directors’ Meeting

On June 22-23, 2010 CALCASA will have its annual Executive Directors’ Meeting in Sacramento, CA.  This year’s meeting is titled “No Matter the Season, Good Leadership and Management are Always in Style.”

Rape Crisis Center Executive Directors from across California will come together for two days to network and develop strategies on issues that have an impact on their agencies and communities in which they work.  Participants will leave re-energized with increased skill sets in innovative leadership and responsible management practices to affect change at their agencies and in their communities.

Training topics:

  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Human Resource Management
  • Agency Sustainability
  • CALCASA Legislative Updates
  • Rape Crisis Center 2010 Salary Survey results
  • CAL-EMA will be available (2nd day in the A.M.) to speak with you

The training will be facilitated by consultants, CALCASA staff and Executive Directors (your peers).  This event is free of charge and open to Executive Directors or Executive Management at California Rape Crisis Centers.

CALCASA will make travel scholarships available for this event (one per agency, unless you have multiple Executive Directors).  Registration will begin on May 7, 2010.

Kavin Black currently holds the position of Organizational Services Coordinator at CALCASA. He works with rape crisis centers as well as other organizations to build agency capacity and infrastructure to further the mission of the organization. Kavin began working at CALCASA in July 2002 as the Campus & Training Resource Coordinator on the National Campus Program to Address Violence Against Women on College Campuses. Kavin is a former Executive Director of a California rape crisis center and a former academy instructor for California POST.
