On Tuesday, October 27, CALCASA will host a webinar on “Cyberstalking, Technology & Sexual Violence on College Campuses.”  In the last decade, we have witnessed and engaged, to varying degrees, in the expansion of technology in our everyday lives.  The internet, for instance, while greatly received as a means of mass communication and quick dissemination of social capital across boundaries (geo-political in particular), also presents a series of challenges relevant to the sexual violence movement.

The purpose of this month’s webinar is to gain a more thorough understanding of the complexities surrounding technology and sexual violence.  The discussion will begin with an overview of stalking, focus on cyberstalking as experienced at college campuses across the United States, as well as inform participants of general legal remedies related to technology and sexual violence. A presenter from the Stalking Resource Center of the National Center for Victims of Crime will lead the presentation, followed by a question and answer period.

For more registration details, please check the Project Directors listserv.  If you have any questions regarding registration or the webinar topic, please contact Livia Rojas, Training & Resource Coordinator (livia@calcasa.org).
