Suzanne Brown-McBride is the Executive Director of CALCASA as well as the chair of California’s Sex Offender Management Board. Brown-McBride was recently interviewed for “Not in My Backyard,” a radio show, and discussed state policies governing sex offenders.

The documentary features interviews with parole agents, probation officers, a California Department of Corrections official and several homeless high-risk sex offender parolees. It explores the effects of Jessica’s Law and focused on two provisions — residency restrictions and GPS tracking of sex offender parolees.

According to the professionals who supervise and oversee the management of sex offenders, the stress caused by being homeless increases the risk that they’ll commit another crime.
