Understanding National Rape Statistics, by Dean Kilpatrick and Jenna McCauley (September 2009), is now available at the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC).

This Applied Research paper provides an overview of how estimates of sexual violence in the United States are produced, with particular emphasis on sources of rape statistics at the national level.
