The Evolution and Revolution of Our Movement

At the beginning of August, there were more than 100 participants at the 2011 CALCASA Leadership Conference who represented sexual assault professionals from rape crisis centers across the state of California. The theme — The Evolution and Revolution of Our Movement — reflected on the past 40 years of Rape Crisis Center Movement and looked to the future in what it will take to end sexual violence. During the two-day conference, people had the opportunity to experience, share and learn strategies. There were more than 10 workshops in the following tracks: advocacy/intervention; prevention; management; and special focus.
